Shey O. in Hacienda Heights, CA wanted a unique home automation upgrade for his home. He had oversized openings that did not have a door. With his Mid-Century Modern view home, he did not want swinging doors added which may have taken away from the asthetic of the home. Rather, he wanted a modern pocket door. In addition, he wanted the doors to be motorized with both push-button activation as well as motion sensor.
The openings were nearly 48" wide, so no commercial manufacturer makes a single interior door that wide. So we decided to custom build them for him. We ordered a custom sized pocket frame door, and opened up his wall to accept it. We ran all of the electrical for the door and then replaced the drywall to paint and texture to match the original. The end result turned out amazing! You simply walk up to the door, and it opens up automatically. We also installed a few modern interior doors to round out the job.
