Jared G. had 2 large arch-top windows in two of the bedrooms that he wanted to be replaced with square windows. Jared was looking for a completely different look and style for his home in Yucaipa CA. He kept the grids inside the windows as they were before, but just changing as little as shape makes a huge difference in appearance.
He ended up deciding that he wanted to go with a Horizontal slider in place of the mulled arch-top window that was there before. We cut the wall straight up from either side of the original window starting at the base of the arch. The top, in turn, was also cut out to meet the window width. Before the window was installed we had to re-drywall the inside to square it all off. Jared G. is still going to jamb and case the windows in the future, covering the small gap at the bottom of the window.
