In addition to a new patio door, we moved the electrical to install an outlet and a light switch box on the right side of the door. They had to cut about 2 feet above the door and also install a header to support the roof. The shingles on the outside had to be cut to fit the transom's outside frame as well. After the transom was installed it had to be painted to match the color of the new door. Once in place, the installation team drywall patched the gaps on the inside and made it look as good as new.
